Custom Jewellery Design

When customers select their diamonds, they usually want their stones set in a custom-designed ring, bracelet, pendant or other jewellery piece that can make an even more personal statement. Take a look at our catalogue for ideas and examples. Almost 95% of the jewellery and engagement rings in our catalogue began as custom-designed pieces.

More than 40 Years of Experience in Custom Design

Besides offering some of the finest performing diamonds in the world, Newey's Jewellers brings more than 40 years of experience in the creation of custom jewellery designs. We do this using CAD or Computer-Aided Design programmes used by engineers to create life-like, 3-dimensional representations of designs to help customers visualise what a finished piece would look like in advance.

How Does the Custom Process Work?

Step 1: Concept
Your new custom designed jewellery begins with an idea: a concept, picture or drawing of something you like, or something you've thought up yourself. Then, we move in stages, step-by-step, carefully shaping and refining your original idea into a stunning, original fine jewellery creation.

Step 2: Quote
Based on your concept, we put together a detailed quotation of what it will cost to create your original jewellery design. This will include stone sizes, weights and specific details about the materials to be used. We prefer to work with our own stones and materials.

Step 3: Approval / Payment
Once we receive your approval and payment in full, we take your concept and put your project into production.

Step 4: CAD Model
Using your initial concept, we create a 3-dimensional CAD model showing, in detail, what your final creation will look like. This model is e-mailed to you for your review and approval, giving you the opportunity to visualise how the design will appear in 3-dimensional form.

Step 5: Design Approval
At this stage, we can make modifications and adjustments to the design based on any feedback from your review of the CAD model. Once you sign off on the design, we start production.

Step 6: Wax Model and Production
At this point, a wax model will be created based on the CAD model. The wax model is milled using state-of-the-art, computer-aided milling equipment and is then cleaned by hand. Next, our skilled craftsmen cast and finish your jewellery exacting standards.

Step 7: Completion and Delivery
Your finished piece is carefully inspected.  Your package is then posted to you via Royal Mail special delivery or you can arrange to collect it at our Birmingham showroom.
